What I do

My passion is creating beautiful bespoke items that my clients love. Whether it is taking a loved piece of furniture and breathing new life into it, or creating unique curtains, blinds and cushions that are as individual as the homes that they adorn. 

Zip Upholstery is based in rural Warwickshire but only a stone’s throw from Stratford upon Avon, Solihull & The Cotswolds. 

Whether it’s a Wing Back Chair or Sofa that’s been handed down or an unloved Footstool that’s seen better days - I can bring it back to life for future generations and give it some TLC. 

I can also be commissioned to produce one-off items of furniture – offering a tailor-made bespoke upholstery service. This is the ideal solution if you’re looking for a unique item - but, if you just need a bit of guidance, I’m also on hand to share my interiors knowledge to ensure your piece sits comfortably within your decor and room style, it's the right fabric, style & size. 

I create beautiful new pieces and also re-upholster everything from Victorian Sofas and Wingback Chairs to Box Cushions and Dining Chairs.

    How it all began...

    It all began when I found I had an absolute passion for giving furniture a new lease of life. Based at my shop, Henley Vintage in Henley in Arden, I would be commissioned to paint one-off pieces of furniture. Though I had dabbled in light upholstery, but it became apparent, very quickly, that’s where my passion was. I took the plunge and enrolled into an Upholstery Course at the Ministry of Upholstery in Manchester (all this whilst raising 2 small children) and it sort of snowballed from there…. And Zip Upholstery was born! 

    10 years later I have transformed so many pieces of beautiful furniture and expanded my skills from contemporary upholstery to include traditional upholstery and a wide range of soft furnishings.
