About the course

You will be guided through the process of upholstery including an explanation of the tools, materials and techniques involved. By the end of the day you will have created your very own bespoke footstool which is then yours to take away!

The course will run from 10:30am until 4:30pm on the day - everything is supplied including a delicious lunch, all you need is 1 metre of fabric suitable for upholstery!                                                                        

The upholstery workshops are great fun and a real source of inspiration. The skills learnt on this fun day can be transferred to many small items of furniture - once you start the sky is the limit!

We provide the following:

  • The solid hardwood frame and legs for you to work on
  • A full explanation of the tools and techniques to create you masterpiece
  • All upholstery materials
  • A delicious light lunch
  • Tea, coffee and lovely cakes!

The workshops are led by Julie – Julie is passionate about interiors and has been trained in upholstery techniques by Anthony Devine (owner of The Ministry of Upholstery - featured on BBC1’s 'Money for Nothing')
